各時代の先端的な思想や理論を踏まえて現代文化について学ぶ。
Studies of contemporary culture on the basis of advanced thoughts and theories of preceding times.

（1）各時代の先端的な思想や理論を踏まえつつ、文化のなりたちを＜感性＞や＜いのち＞にまで遡って考え、足元から突き上げてくるような現代文化の多様性を、まさに動きつつあるものとして捉えること（2）未知な世界に出会った時の＜問題解決能力＞を養ってもらうこと――これが先端文化学コースの二大コンセプトです。とくに＜身体文化＞、＜イメージ人類学＞、＜芸術文化論＞、＜言語文化論＞、＜文化解釈学＞、＜生命とテクノロジー＞、＜臨床哲学＞、＜ポストモダン思想＞、＜文化共生論＞、＜マイノリティ論＞、＜演劇論＞などを専門とする教員が、＜みなさんとの対話と格闘＞の場として授業や卒業論文を創り上げていきます。
(1) To quest the configuration of culture by even turning back to [sensibility] or [life] on the basis of advanced thoughts and theories of preceding times, and to understand the diversity of contemporary culture which seems as if it rushes on us from our feet as being such that is indeed volatile and fluid.
(2) To develop [problem solving capability] when you encounter an unknown world – These are the two key concepts of Area of Advanced Studies in Culture. In particular, the faculty members with their specialty in [physical culture], [image anthropology], [artistic culture], [linguistic culture], [culture interpretation], [life and technology], [clinical philosophy], [postmodern thoughts], [culture coexistence], [minorities], [performing arts] and so forth set up their classes and the process of graduation dissertation writing intending to turn them to the scene of [dialogues and duels with students].
