グローバルな時代を生きる力を養成するには、語学力はもちろんのこと、異文化に対する知識、他者を受け入れる心構えなども必要です。そのためには他国の人々と実際に交流を持ち、自分たちとは異なる思考方法や生活習慣を肌で感じることが、何よりの近道になります。
In order to cultivate the ability to live in a global age requires not only ability in foreign languages, but also knowledge of foreign cultures as well as a mindset that is prepared to accept people from other cultures. To develop such a mindset, it is extremely useful to provide an environment in which youth can actually engage in associations with people from various cultures and absorb the different ways of thinking and lifestyles of others.
比較文化学類では多彩な語学教育をはじめとして、みなさんが世界へと視野を広げるためのさまざまなツールを用意しています。諸外国からの留学生との国際交流プログラムに始まり、世界各国の50以上もの大学との提携関係を通じて、さまざまな期間、さまざまな形での留学のチャンスがあります。相手先によっては単位互換によって休学期間を作ることなく卒業できたり、留学先での追加の授業料を減免されるなど、大学・学類も環境の整備に力を入れています。
The College of Comparative Culture offers a diverse array of foreign language courses and many other useful tools providing students with the opportunity to expand their views of the world. Beginning with the International Exchange Program, which provides the opportunity for students to interact with foreign students studying at University of Tsukuba, our university has partnerships with more than 50 universities around the world through which we offer students of the College of Comparative Culture a wide variety of opportunities to study abroad for varied periods of time. Depending on the conditions given by a partner university, students can study abroad without taking a leave of absence and through the transfer-credit system earn graduation credits, thus enabling the student to graduate on a four-year schedule. Again, depending on the university chosen, reduction or exemption of additional tuition expenses may be possible in certain cases. Both the University of Tsukuba and the College of Comparative Culture strive to provide an exceptional environment for international exchange.

筑波大学は全世界に広がる160以上もの海外協定のネットワークがあり、比較文化学類の学生が利用できるものに限っても、その数は50以上です。

Our university has partnerships with over 50 universities abroad offering students of the Comparative Culture a wealth of international study-abroad opportunities.
留学には語学力の養成に加えて、費用の問題、現地語での慣れない書類準備など、さまざまなハードルがありますので、準備は早いほうがいいでしょう。本学類の国際交流委員会の教員の他にグローバル・コモンズ（新しいウインドウで開きます）（大学の留学支援組織）が具体的な相談に乗ってくれます。また、実際に留学した先輩方からの体験談などは大いに参考になることでしょう。
In addition to enhancing foreign language skills, the experience presents students with many hurdles to overcome such as problems of cost and preparing forms in a foreign language. Obviously, the sooner students begin preparation, the better off they are. The College of Comparative Culture’s International Exchange Committee professors and the Global Commons, an organization supporting study abroad, are tasked with the actual advising of students regarding study abroad. Additionally, listening to the real experiences of students who have done study abroad is also a great source of information.

本学類が2013年9月よりスタートさせたカナダ・プリンス・エドワード島大学（UPEI）との交換留学制度は、学類カリキュラムと一体化した形で、相互の大学に一学期間留学できる、大変ユニークな制度です。同大学では本学類生を中心とした夏期英語研修も行なわれています。
Furthermore, from September of 2013, the College of Comparative Culture entered into a student exchange program with Canada’s University of Prince Edward Island. This exchange system is unique in that it is based upon a unified curriculum between the two universities allowing students to study in Japan or Canada for one semester. As well, the University of Prince Edward Island offers summer English language classes focusing mainly on students of the College of Comparative Culture.
